DARKROOM RENTAL

Anyone who wants to develop negatives or prints themselves has the opportunity to rent the darkroom of my lab by the day or by the hour. The lab is equipped to the highest possible standard and offers the highest analog quality: negatives up to 8x10 inch format can be developed with a JOBO ATL rotary processor or by hand using the tray/tilting method.
My enlargers are exclusively Durst laboratory equipment (M805 Color, CLS100, HL2500) and allow enlargements from business-card size up to 1.40 m x 3.30 m.
The available enlarging lenses (28–360 mm) are made by Rodenstock, Nikon and Schneider-Kreuznach.
The lab has two tested archival washers for fiber-based papers and a vacuum heat press for flattening prints up to a size of 0.90 x 1.20 m.
In addition, there is a 1.40 x 2.50 m, 8 mm thick glass plate for taping down and drying correspondingly large prints. In short: everything needed for the highest-quality analog photographic printing.
The lab here in Berlin has existed for 25 years and is used professionally to produce museum-quality prints and to handle commissions for photographers and galleries.
A 1–2 hour lab introduction is mandatory before every first rental.
Beginners in analog photography must have acquired basic theoretical and practical knowledge of the development process before renting the lab. Suitable workshops (see workshop list) can also be booked at my lab.
You are welcome to bring your own paper, or paper can be purchased or ordered at the lab on request.
Chemicals are charged according to consumption.
The usual rental hours are Monday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and by arrangement.
